Whitestone Contracting Ltd are currently upgrading watermains in Kakanui. This project will run until April next year and help improve supply resilience and make it easier (and more cost-effective) to operate and maintain.
UPDATE: 2 August 2023
Our contractor is making good progress on the project to upgrade watermains and service lines in Kakanui. They have recently moved onto Magadala Street, starting from the intersection with Burnett Street, and expect to complete this by mid-to-late September.
Monday 7 August they will also begin work on Stirling Street.
June 2023 to April 2024
Whitestone staff will be doing the work street-by-street and contacting residents directly as they go to notify them of any traffic management arrangements. If you are driving in the area, please keep an eye out for any traffic controls to help keep you and our contracting staff safe.
