Stronger Waitaki

Stronger Waitaki is a community-led approach to improving wellbeing across the Waitaki District, providing leadership and advocacy for the needs and aspirations of our community.

Since 2013, Stronger Waitaki has brought together local government, central government agencies, NGOs, emergency services, iwi, and community organisations to align around shared priorities. By working collectively, partners coordinate action across key areas such as youth wellbeing, mental health, housing, and family violence prevention.

Guided by a cross-sector Steering Group, Stronger Waitaki strengthens collaboration, amplifies community voice, and ensures resources are used where they can make the greatest difference. The focus is on long-term, system-level change so that people, whānau, and communities across Waitaki feel safe, connected, and supported to thrive.

We’re busy building a new website to better reflect our work and community. Please check back later in 2026 to see what we’ve been up to.
