Official information request

As a council we have obligations under the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA) to provide information that is requested by any member of the public. The guiding principle of the law is that information shall be made available unless there is a good reason for withholding it.

To make a request online please submit it by clicking the ‘Request for Information form’ below. To make a request in person or in writing please either:  

  • Phone our customer liaison team on 03 433 0300
  • Visit one of our service centres located at 20 Thames Street, Oamaru and 54 Tiverton Street, Palmerston
  • Post your request to attention: Information Management Team, Waitaki District Council, Private Bag 50058, Oamaru 9400
  • Talk to one of our friendly council officers
