Instead of going into Council Head Office at 20 Thames Street for enquiries and Council services, you can pop into Ōamaru Library at 62 Thames Street during the week or on a Saturday morning.
Over the last two weeks we have noticed and been made aware of some issues with the maps and ePlan tool that resulted in property reports and various layers not displaying. This has now been rectified and we encourage you to recheck the maps and lodge a submission.Council recently agreed to extend the submission period by a week, from 9 May to 16 May 2025.

Council is excited to announce that a new shared path for pedestrians and cyclists will be constructed on the road reserve along Weston Road. The path will be 2.1m wide and will be surfaced with chip seal, beginning at 41 Weston Road and ending at the A20 in Essex Street.
Prior to the construction of the path, we will be considering not only the best alignment for the road reserve but ensuring full consideration is given to the safety of its users, the space available and the easiest path for residents and users.
This project forms part of the plan to connect urban recreational and cycle commuter routes and will be co-funded by Waka Kotahi.
Local firm Whitestone Contracting have been awarded the contract to construct the path with work scheduled to commence during July and August.
