Notice of intention to grant lease and licence to occupy
Pursuant to section 58A (1) of the Reserves Act 1977
Pursuant to section 58A (1) of the Reserves Act 1977, Waitaki District Council proposes to grant a ground lease and a licence to occupy to the South Star School Charitable Trust over part of the Kurow Historic Reserve, located at 10 Ranfurly Street, Kurow.
The proposed ground lease will enable the Trust to restore the former Kurow School building and to operate an arts school from the reserve.
The proposed ground lease will be for a maximum term of 33 years and will cover an area of approximately 205 m² (shown in blue). The proposed licence to occupy will be for a term of 10 years and will cover an area of approximately 1,200 m² (shown in yellow). The licence will allow the Trust to establish gardens that are consistent with the Trust’s purpose and classification of the reserve.
Both the proposed lease and licence relate to land legally described as Part Lot 2 Deposited Plan 7534.
