Sport NZ and Otago Community Trust funds awarded by Council committee
The Grants and Awards Sub-Committee met on Tuesday, 28 April, to consider applications received for the Sport New Zealand Rural Travel Fund.
The Sport New Zealand Rural Travel Fund is designed to help subsidise travel costs for rural junior sports teams aged between 5-19 years, supporting school and club teams to participate in local sporting competitions.
This funding round had $20,000 available for distribution, $10,000 from Sport New Zealand and $10,000 from Otago Community Trust. Applications totalled $95,577.80, significantly exceeding the available funds.
