Make sure your dog is registered by 1 July 2025

Dog registration application forms were sent out to all registered dog owners in Waitaki, and they should be with you now. Fees are due by 1 July 2025, and penalties will apply on unpaid fees after 31 July 2025.

 

The fees for 2025/26 Dog Registration year are as follows:

 

Non-working dog, urban: $130.50
Neutered non-working dog: $105.00
Selected Owner Status: $52.50
Farm pet dog: $39.00
Working dog: $39.00
Probationary Owners: Category fee + 50%
Owners of dog classed as Dangerous: Category fee + 50%

 

You can pay online if you have your NAR number and your dog is already registered: Registering your dog | Waitaki District Council

 

Or come and visit our Customer Liaison Team at the Oamaru Library and Service Centre, or Waihemo Service Centre, if you would like to pay in-person, your dog has not been registered in Waitaki before, or you need to update your details.
