Whānau Āwhina Plunket

Provides free child health and parenting support, working alongside families and whānau from pregnancy and birth through to a child’s fifth birthday.

Services available include:

Well child and child health support

• Well Child Tamariki Ora health checks supporting children’s growth, development and wellbeing from birth to 5 years.
• Developmental check‑ins during the early years, including the B4 School Check.

Parenting and whānau support

• Parenting advice and guidance to support families through different stages of early childhood.
• Support for parent confidence, connection and wellbeing.

Groups and community services

• Parenting groups and community‑based programmes.
• Multicultural playgroups supporting whānau connection and inclusion.

Home and everyday safety

• Home safety advice and injury prevention guidance.
• Car seat checks and installation support.

Services are delivered through Well Child clinics and community locations across North Otago.
