Community Housing, Waitaki District Council

Waitaki District Council provides a limited number of community housing units in:

• Ōamaru
• Hampden
• Palmerston. 

Housing is primarily intended for:

• People aged 60 years and older
• Individuals with specific housing or support needs
• People on low or fixed incomes. 

Important to know:

• Properties are rental units, not emergency or transitional housing
• Allocation is eligibility‑based, and waiting lists may apply
• Applicants are assessed against Council criteria
• This service does not provide housing advocacy or tenancy support.
