Programmes and support

• Insulation subsidies (Warmer Kiwi Homes)
  Cosy Homes Trust supports the government‑funded Warmer Kiwi Homes Programme, which provides 80–90% subsidies for:

  • Ceiling insulation
  • Under‑floor insulation
  • Ground moisture barriers

  In some Otago areas, Cosy Homes can help top‑up the remaining cost, making insulation free for eligible households.

• Heating subsidies
  Support to access subsidies for approved fixed heating appliances, such as heat pumps, where a home meets eligibility criteria and insulation requirements.

Who may be eligible

Eligibility generally includes:

• Owner‑occupied homes built before 2008
• Households with a Community Services Card, or
• Homes located in government‑identified lower‑income areas

Final eligibility is confirmed through the Warmer Kiwi Homes assessment process.
