Where to park in Oamaru
From 1 July 2026 paid parking hours will be from 09:30 - 17:30 Monday to Friday and between 09:30 - 13:00 on Saturday.
You must enter your vehicle registration into a parking machine or the parking app as soon as you have parked.
Usual restrictions apply to all limited time parks, disability parks, loading zones etc.
CCS Mobility Permit holders may park in any paid parking space for free.
As of 1 July 2026, Paid parking for all metered parking spaces on and off-street will be required between;
- 09:30am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday
- 09:30am – 1pm Saturday
Sunday and Public holidays have free parking.
On-Street Parking
Thames Street (from Itchen to Dee Streets), Ribble Street (east), Coquet Street (east) and Eden and Wear Streets.
$2.00 per hour payable with credit, debit or phone based payment.
Off-Street Parking
Eden Street (north and south), Steward Street (Hospital) and Medway Street.
$2.00 per hour or $8.00 for all day parking.
