Our Animal Management team have received a number of barking complaints this month and want to remind people that loud and persistent barking is very stressful not only for the dog itself, but to the surrounding neighbours.
We understand some dogs may have some separation anxiety with owners heading back into the workplace with restrictions lifting.
If your neighbour's dog is barking persistently and you believe they are approachable, try talking to them about the barking. If that doesn’t work, Animal Management can provide them with some helpful material.
There are many reasons why dogs bark, and most are easily fixable but can take time.
If you are having issues with your dog, or a neighbouring dog persistently barking call Animal Management for some ideas on how to fix the issue on 03 433 0300.
