More in-person customer services for you!
Published on 23 September 2025
Transformation means additional customer service access at Council facilities.
Want your business with Council to be done in person? Thanks to Council’s transformation programme, that’s now easier than ever.
In-person Service Desk hours will have doubled from 41.5 to 83 hours a week by the start of next year, making use of Council’s existing facilities and staff to better deliver for the community.
With desks at the Waihemo Service Centre and Library in Palmerston, and the Oamaru Public Library and Service Centre, and with a planned desk opening at the Waitaki Aquatic Centre later this year – Council will soon be offering seven-day-a-week in-person services.
There’s also our HQ, still open for viewing property files and meeting with Council officers, as well as attending public Council Meetings, Committee Meetings and Workshops.
Our Customer Liaison Officer team is continually developing to be able to work across any of our service desks, in any facility, around the Waitaki District, and deliver the same high-quality service our community deserves.
This also includes our customer service call-centre, based in Oamaru, where those Customer Liaison Officers are available to answer your calls using our new Genesys software.
Our team aims to answer 90% of all enquiries within 10 minutes, whether that be a phone call or in-person visit.
