Waitaki District Council advises that the building emergency designation for the designated area shown on the map below, following the severe weather and flooding on 6 July 2026, has been terminated in full.
The designation was introduced under the Building Act 2004 to allow Council to manage building safety following the flooding. The termination has been approved by the Minister for Building and Construction at the request of Waitaki District Council.
The decision to terminate the designation was made at 2:04pm on 06/10/2026, with the termination taking effect at 06/10/2026.
