Yesterday the Mayor and Councillors had a public workshop on the current uncertainty around fuel, and Council's risk assessment and preparation for reductions in fuel availability.

Chair of the Assets and Infrastructure Committee, Brent Cowles, said:

"This is a very dynamic situation, with much resting on things beyond Council's control. Council has been engaged with its contractors and central government in discussions about fuel requirements for core services should there be a change in the National Fuel Plan levels in the future, and planning for the 2026/27 financial year. "
