Waitaki District Council has appointed Mr Hadleigh Bognuda to the board of its Council-Controlled Organisation Omarama Airfield Limited effective 1 June 2025. His term will run until 31 December 2027.
Mr Bognuda is an investor, aviator and farmer, experienced in founding successful startups, most notably the cloud software tech company ezyVet.
Mr Bognuda is replacing Mr Richard Subtil who had reached the end of his term on the board, but extended his role while Council undertook a recruitment and selection process for his replacement.
All CCO board appointments are considered by Waitaki District Council’s Shareholder Sub-committee, which submits recommendations to full Council who approve them acting as shareholder of Omarama Airfield Limited.
Waitaki District Council would like to offer its thanks to Mr Subtil for nine and a half years of service to the community as a board member of Omarama Airfield Limited.
Waitaki District Mayor Gary Kircher says: “We were very pleased to have very qualified applicants for this role - people who are successful, have great governance skills, have homes in the area and are pilots. It’s a pleasure for us to appoint Mr Bognuda and we look forward to working with him.
I’d also like to thank Richard Subtil for his years of service to the company and the Ōmarama community. His skills and connections to the Ōmarama community that he brought to the role have been greatly appreciated.”
