Industry Trained Graduates 2022

Rebecca Finlay from Business South introduced this year's Waitaki Industry Training Graduates at a ceremony at the Oamaru Opera House this week which was held to celebrate those who had achieved their qualifications in the last year - an opportunity to share success with whānau, employers and other graduates.

New qualifications, including Certificates and Apprenticeships in Health and Wellbeing, Engineering, Business, Leadership, Community Facilitation, Dairy Farming , Aquatics, Drinking Water and Pipelaying, will value-add to Waitaki businesses and help to grow a skilled and motivated workforce.

Glowing employer testimonies, read on the night by Councillors Hana Halalele, Courtney Linwood and Rebecca Ryan, showed the value placed on up-skilling employees and appreciation for the hard work and dedication required to complete industry training.

The contribution of the businesses and employers who are prepared to invest in training for their staff and help grow the capability and resilience of our district was acknowledged by Mayor Gary Kircher.
