Awards made at October 7 meeting of the Grants and Awards Subcommittee

The Waitaki District Council Grants and Awards Subcommittee met on October 7 to award grants for the Community Group Grants, Waitaki Heritage Fund, Waitaki Biodiversity Fund and the Waitaki Waste Minimisation Fund.

The Creative Communities Scheme applications closed earlier this month, and the Grants and Funding Subcommittee is meeting on Tuesday 11 November to make awards.

Waitaki Biodiversity Fund Opens 3 November 2025 - Closes 3 February 2026

This fund was established to support landowners who are taking practical steps to protect and enhance indigenous biodiversity in the Waitaki District, principal on private land.

Projects can include protection of native habitat and management of threats of biodiversity such as pest animals and weeds.
