Waitaki District Council's Oamaru Supply is not currently being fluoridated. A mechanical issue at the treatment plant has required the fluoridation equipment to cease operating. Council is working with contractors to resolve the issue, and comply with the directive to fluoridate the supply as required by the Director General of Health. Council has informed the Ministry of Health of this situation, as it is required to. The community will be informed when fluoridation recommences.
