Waitaki District Councillor for Corriedale, Sven Thelning, and Council’s Policy Lead, Victoria van der Spek, will be making submissions to the Select Committee considering the replacement of the Resource Management Act this week.
The submissions will be made by Zoom, but will be in public session. Their appearances are scheduled for 1:30pm on Wednesday 18 March 2026 and can be viewed by selecting the Livestream Link for the session in Environment Subcommite B at the Government’s website.
At last month’s meeting of full Council, Councillors approved the ratification of a submission of the Planning and Natural Environment Bills. This was because the deadline for submission was Friday 13 February, before Council could meet. However, Councillors did work with Officers on shaping the submission in January and February.
