A Conserve Water Notice has been issued for the Awamoko Supply, due to work on one of the main lines from the pump station to scheme reservoirs. The water supply is expected to be back to normal by the 18th of September.
17 September 2025 7.00pm-12am. During the scheduled update period, there will be a short time of some service unavailability before all services return to normal.

The people who make the Council’s cultural facilities shine were thanked at a special morning tea held at the Oamaru Opera House this week.
Waitaki District Council has around 100 volunteers across libraries, galleries, museums and other facilities – each helping to ensure visitors are welcomed, looked after and well-informed.
Jenny Bean, Waitaki District Libraries Manager, said: “Our volunteers are the heart of our cultural facilities, who give their time to our community and ensure that we can offer wonderful experiences to visitors”
Lisa Baillie, Deputy Chief Executive of Waitaki District Council said: “The time we have is our most precious resource, and we cannot thank the people who give theirs to our museums, libraries and galleries enough for all that they do”
Frances McElhinney, Director of the Oamaru Opera House, said: “Volunteers are vital to keep things running like a well-oiled machine during events and performances. Volunteers are a conduit to our community, and we appreciate and value every single one”
