Get your Paperwork Sorted in time for Santa

Christmas is fast approaching, and this means we want to give you a heads up about some closing dates for paperwork.

Building Consent and Resource Consent (not notified)

Under the Building Act 2004 and the Resource Management Act 1991 the Statutory Clock stops on 20 December and restarts on 11 January. Council continues to receive and work on consents up to 23 December 2022 and recommences on the 9 Jan 2023. The last day for Building Inspections will be 22 Dec 2022 and will recommence on 9 Jan 2023.

Alcohol – Special Licence

Under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012, any days between 20 December and 15 January inclusive are deemed to be non-working days.

For events that are being held between 21 Dec 2022 and 15 Jan 2023, all applications must be received by us before 22 Nov 2022.

For licences that are due after 15 January 2023 or events being held after 15 Jan 2023, all applications must be received 20 working days before the expiry or the event.

Land Information Memorandum (LIM)

  • Standard LIM applications need to be submitted by 8 December 2022

Food and Mobile Shops

Any new food registrations or Mobile Shop applications are required to be submitted by 21 December 2022.

Any applications received after this date will be processed beginning 9 January 2023.

Council Offices Open Hours

Council HQ in ŇĆamaru will be closed from noon 23 December 2022, reopening 8am 9 January 2023.

Waihemo Service Centre / Library will close noon 23 December 2022 reopening 8.30am 9 January 2023.
