Final 2025 Election Results

This evening, Electionz provided Waitaki District Council with the final declaration of results for the Local Government Election which took place on Saturday 11 October 2025.

 

The final count includes all Ordinary and Special votes and confirms;
  • The election of Melanie Tavendale as Waitaki District Mayor.
  • The election of Brent Cowles as Ahuriri Ward Councillor.
  • The election of Mata'aga Hana Melania Fanene-Taiti, Jeremy Holding, Jim Hopkins, Dan Lewis, Courtney Linwood and Rebecca Ryan as Oamaru Ward Councillors.
  • The election of Frans Schlack as Waihemo Ward Councillor.
  • The election of Sven Thelning and John McCone as Corriedale Ward Councillors.
  • The election of Steve Dalley, Mike King, Alan Pont, Calum Reid and Karen Turner as the Ahuriri Community Board
  • The election of Tanya Bell, Clifford Day, Heather McGregor, Paul Roy and Kerry Stevens as the Waihemo Community Board.
