Ōtematata Community Library is a wonderful friendly library with great collections. It is run by a fantastic team of local volunteers. The library offers adult fiction and non-fiction, children and youth collections in a great children’s area, some adult large print and audio books, council information and more. If you can’t find the book or item you want just ask to see if we have the item in another local library and we can send it to Ōtematata for you to borrow. You can also return it to Ōtematata Library when finished. Ōtematata has an amazing history – it was expanded hugely to accommodate those who came to build the Waitaki Valley dams. Come to the library to find out about this story and learn from their local history collection. If you don’t have a library card yet come along to join up and gain access to all the services available to all members of Waitaki District Libraries. Do call in during library opening hours to find out more.
The library is in the building which houses the On the Spot shop BUT the entrance is round the back of this building – the east end of the building. You can drive round or walk. There is parking outside the library entrance. Please refer to the map below.
Many thanks to the dedicated Ōtematata library volunteers – we really appreciate your support for this great community library.
