Free Te Reo Māori Classes – Te Kākano Term One

Te Kākano will start on Thursday, 22nd February.  If you would like to sign up for this seven week programme, please RSVP at once.

While this class is designed for people who are at the beginning of their Māori language journey, it would also be suitable for those who have already engaged with a little te reo before.

Throughout the programme, we will cover –

  • correct pronunciation of vowel sounds
  • some simple sentence structures to begin using
  • mihi (greetings)
  • pepeha (introducing yourself – where you come from and your connections)
  • other tikanga such as karakia and waiata.

The Education Room, Museum, Thursdays 1pm to 2pm starting Thursday, 22 February 2024

Te Kākano is a beginner level class in Te Reo Māori. This term there will be 7 sessions that will run weekly (with the exception of week one in March)
