Te Ara: The Encyclopedia of New Zealand is a wonderful resource, with features about: the bush; Maori New Zealanders; New Zealand in brief; earth, sea and sky; New Zealand peoples; settled landscape and places. This is also a good place to look if you are interested in the different groups of immigrants that have come to New Zealand over the years, or anything about New Zealand and New Zealanders.

New Zealand History Online is a very comprehensive site for New Zealand history, it includes information on Culture and Society, Politics and Government, War and Society. It also has a time line section, which gives an historic event for every day of the year.
