Mātauranga Māori
Mātauranga Māori or Māori knowledge (in its most simplistic form) contains a body of knowledge originating from Māori ancestors. This knowledge extends to:
- world views,
- values
- perspectives
- Māori creativity
- cultural practices
- the recognition of the inter-related connections between all life forces, both seen and unseen.
As such, Waitaki District Libraries, in partnership and consultation with mana whenua, are working towards creating a living resource - both physical and digital, to further the growth and understanding of its community of users.
