Items/materials accepted and charges
- Waihemo Wastebusters accepts steel/aluminium, cardboard, glass and donations of good quality household items for their re-use shop.
some Plastics are also accepted:
- Clean clear plastic bottles only, marked with number 1.
- other plastics marked with number 2 or number 5.
All other plastics (type 3 – 7, coloured PET bottles, and all trays and punnets – clear or otherwise and even marked with a number 1) should now be treated as rubbish until further notice. This includes all types of polystyrene.
- Blue recycling bags can be purchased for $3 at Waihemo Wastebusters, Tiverton Street.
- Recycling can be dropped off directly at Waihemo Wastebusters, however, if it is without a blue bag then a donation is asked to cover sorting and transport. Lids must be removed from bottles and jars.
- Street collection of blue bags is on the first Tuesday of the month in Goodwood and Dunback. There is a shed in the Macraes Township for blue bag drop offs.
