Draft architectural drawings were approved by Waitaki District Council in August 2016, following public consultation. These draft plans supported successful applications for Resource Consent, an Memorandum of Understand (MoU) with Heritage NZ and fundraising in early 2017. We are now working on final architectural plans to support further fundraising applications we’ll make in early 2018.
As part of the process of developing final architectural plans we have been working on some important design issues for the new facility. One aspect that requires careful attention is the entry to the building.
We think that we have come up with a great and cost-effective solution for the entry, as shown in these images. There is still a lot of work to be done on the detail and we’ll keep you posted.
