In February 2019 the Council agreed that there will be no formal consultation on the upcoming 2019/20 Annual Plan, this is because the Annual Plan is not significantly different from what we said we would do for year two of the Long Term Plan 2018-28. But you can still have your feedback considered by Councillors when they make their decisions.
Throughout November 2018 we carried out a community engagement process to help identify what people find special about the Oamaru Harbour Area and where they see its future. We’re looking to develop a masterplan to shape the development of the Oamaru Harbour Area over the next 30 years and beyond.
We’re also consulting on our District Plan which is being updated to ensure it enables economic and residential growth while protecting the environment and the things that make our District special.
Both of these documents will play crucial roles in determining how our district grows into the future. We therefore want to make sure our residents are free to put their energy into helping us put together these documents and don't have to consult on an Annual Plan that is not significantly different to our Long term Plan.
