Dog rehoming

From time to time we have dogs that require a new home. If you are looking for a dog, call us on (03) 433 0300 and ask to speak to one of our Animal Management officers, you can also email Animal Management at animal.control@waitaki.govt.nz.

There is an adoption application that we require to be filled out, to ensure we have found the correct match for the dog and potential owner.

The dogs are all temperament tested and given a trial period with new owners. There is an adoption fee of $165, which is a heavily subsidized price and includes:

  • De-sexing
  • Standard vaccination
  • Registration
  • Micro-chipping
  • Wormer
