Update #8 - Boil Water Notice - Stoneburn

UPDATED: 12:20pm 13/04/22

Customers on the Stoneburn Water Supply are advised that the BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in place.

The water quality in the storage dam has improved slightly since temperatures have dropped, however it is not yet enough to lift this notice.

In an attempt to improve the effectiveness of the chlorine treatment, contractors are on-site today cleaning the treated water reservoirs.

To do this the treated water reservoirs were turned off on Monday (11th). The reservoirs did not empty until last night (12th) and consumers would have been

receiving water until this time. The works are expected to be complete by tomorrow (14th). All consumers should have three days water storage and as such should not be affected by these works.

If you are experiencing a water outage, please contact Andrew Linklater, as you would for typical supply faults.

We apologise for the inconvenience and thank consumers for their continued patience and co-operation.

Update #7 - Boil Water Notice - Stoneburn

UPDATED: 11:30am 25/03/22

Customers on the Stoneburn Water Supply are advised that the BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in place.

The water quality in the storage dam remains very poor.

Preparations are underway to install two tanks that will be fed water direct from the stream (bypassing the dam). Chlorine treatment of this water should be more effective given the better water quality. If this is the case, the boil water notice should be able to be lifted following testing.

We apologise for the inconvenience and thank consumers for their continued patience and co-operation.

UPDATED: 10:30am 16/02/22

Customers on the Stoneburn Water Supply are advised that the BOIL WATER NOTICE remains in place.

There has been no change to the water quality and the filters continue to struggle to remove the algae. Chlorine levels are inconsistent and we cannot guarantee it is killing bugs 100% of the time.

Update #1 - Boil Water Notice - Stoneburn

UPDATED: 12.45am 25/01/22

Customers are reminded to please continue boiling all drinking water and that used for food preparation, until further notice.

Unfortunately, we are experiencing very poor water quality at the storage dam due to an algal bloom, likely caused by the high temperatures of late.
The filters are not removing the algae enough for the chlorine treatment to be effective and as such we can not guarantee there are no bugs in the water.

We are monitoring the situation closely and will continue to provide updates with any new information.

We thank Stoneburn consumers for their patience and co-operation at this time.
