Remembrance Day marked with lawn poppies Published on 08 November 2024 As the Waitaki District marks Remembrance Day on Monday 11 November, our parks contractor Green By Nature has added four painted poppies to grassed surfaces in Ōamaru.The poppies, which will be located at the Oamaru New Cemetery, the War Memorial on Thames Street and the RSA Garden of Memories, have been provided free of charge by the contractor to mark the 105th commemoration of Armistice Day. Resource Recovery Park celebrates 20th birthday Published on 12 February 2024 Waitaki’s resource recovery park will be celebrating its 20th year of operation this weekend. This Sunday, February 18, there will be an on-site sausage sizzle and ice-cream truck from 11am to 2pm to celebrate twenty years of saving stuff from landfill.
