Purpose of the Youth Council
The Youth Council is a group of representitives from the district's high schools and training institutions. They meet monthly to discuss issues that are relevant to the young people of the area. Their aims are to act as a conduit for young people to inform Council of a youth perspective and to enhance a positive profile of young people in the community. Each Youth Coucil meeting is attended by an adult Councillor who reports back to full Council.

Meetings are held on Wednesdays, and run from 4:00pm.

Contact the Youth Council
Each Youth Council meeting begins with a public forum. We would encourage young people to present any ideas or issues at the public forum. To do this contact the Council.

Each of the high schools have a Youth Council member. Please contact them through your school if you have any issues or ideas for projects, or events.
