<div><span style="font-family:'calibri', 'sans-serif';color:windowtext;font-size:12pt"><strong> </strong></span><span style="font-family:'calibri', 'sans-serif';color:windowtext;font-size:12pt;font-weight:normal">In exercise of the power contained in Section 342(1)(a) of the Local Government Act 1974 and in accordance with the Tenth Schedule of the said Act, public notice is hereby given that the Waitaki District Council being the Local Authority having control of roads in the District of Waitaki, proposes to stop the 3105m2 portion of an Un-Named Road, Herbert, <span> </span>shown as Section 1 on S0 441510.</span></div>

<h1 style="text-align:justify;margin:0cm 0cm 0pt"><span style="font-family:'calibri', 'sans-serif';font-size:12pt"> </span><span style="font-family:'calibri', 'sans-serif';font-size:12pt">EXPLANATION</span></h1>
<div><span style="font-family:'calibri', 'sans-serif';color:windowtext;font-size:12pt;font-weight:normal"> </span><span style="font-family:'calibri', 'sans-serif';color:windowtext;font-size:12pt;font-weight:normal">The above portion of road is unformed and not used for public access.</span><span lang="EN-AU" style="font-family:'calibri', 'sans-serif';color:windowtext;font-size:12pt;font-weight:normal"> It is superfluous to the Waitaki District Council’s legal and physical roading requirements.<span>  </span>In addition, it is not required for present or future roading purposes.<span>  </span>The road is proposed to be sold and amalgamated with title to the land held by an adjoining owner.</span></div>

Detailed enquires should be directed in the first instance to Dougall McIntyre, Property Services Manager (433 0300).<span>  </span>Persons wishing to object to this proposed stopping must lodge their objections with the Chief Executive in writing not later than 5:00pm on Wednesday 6<sup>th</sup> June 2012. <div><span lang="EN-AU">The Waitaki District Council and the Waimate District Council gives notice of a requirement for a designation of land, water, subsoil and airspace for the North Otago Downlands Irrigation Scheme.<span>  </span>The requiring authority is North Otago Irrigation Company Limited (NOIC). The irrigation scheme plans to ultimately irrigate an area of up to 25,000 ha of the North Otago Downlands. The infrastructure, the subject of this designation request, has already been installed (except for the planned extension to the Tilverstowe pipelines) and its location is shown on Infrastructure and Pipelines Location Plan attached as Appendix II of the Notice.</span></div>
