Date:  Early March 2012 - June 2012 (approximately)
A sign posted detour is in place for the duration of the work.
 
Parsons Creek Culvert Renewal
Widening of culvert planned to take place May/June 2012.  Road will be closed at work site.  Detour will be via Tutu Hill Road
 
 
Kurow Bridges
This is an NZTA project as the bridges are along SH82, therefore not Council roads.  Accordingly, all enquiries should be directed to the Dunedin office of NZTA.  Ph (03) 951 3009.

Water

BOIL WATER NOTICES
Once a boil water notice is issued it remains until it is lifted. Council will consider lifting a boil water notice when three consecutive water tests pass. Testing is usually done daily when a boil water notice is in place.
 
 
 
 
ONGOING WATER NOTICES
Dunrobin
 
Boil Water Notice in place as the water supply is not treated.
 
Duntroon
People are advised to boil all drinking water until further notice due to possible contamination of the water supply.
 
Precautionary measures should also be taken when preparing any food that has to be washed, bathing and oral hygiene.
 
This is due to the intermittent poor water quality.
 
The Council apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks customers for their patience.
 
Otekaieke
Boil Water Notice in place as the water supply is not treated.
  
Otematata
All consumers on the Otematata water supply are advised that all drinking water should be boiled.  This is due to the possibility of contamination within the water supply.
 
Precautionary measures should also be taken when preparing any food that has to be washed, bathing and cleaning teeth.

Applications for new water connections & increased allocation on the
Dunback & GOODWOOD
Water Supply zones
 
Council wishes to advise that from Monday 7 May 2012 it will be considering applications for new water connections or additional water supply for properties on the Dunback & Goodwood Water Supply Zones. Please note the following:
·         Both half and whole units of water will be available for purchase.
·         Up-front costs per unit will include a Development Contribution of approximately $3000 (excl. GST) as proposed in Council’s Draft Long Term Plan 2012-22, along with physical connection costs.
·         Ongoing operational and maintenance costs are included with annual Council rates and are approximately $550 (incl. GST) per unit per annum (as proposed in the Draft Long Term Plan).
·         Some areas will require pipe upgrades to deliver additional water (this has been budgeted in the Draft Long Term Plan).
·         Due to limitations on supply, all applications will be assessed for priority.

Public Notice

 
STOPPING OF AN UN-NAMED ROAD, HERBERT
 
 In exercise of the power contained in Section 342(1)(a) of the Local Government Act 1974 and in accordance with the Tenth Schedule of the said Act, public notice is hereby given that the Waitaki District Council being the Local Authority having control of roads in the District of Waitaki, proposes to stop the 3105m2 portion of an Un-Named Road, Herbert,  shown as Section 1 on S0 441510.

 

 EXPLANATION

 The above portion of road is unformed and not used for public access. It is superfluous to the Waitaki District Council’s legal and physical roading requirements.  In addition, it is not required for present or future roading purposes.  The road is proposed to be sold and amalgamated with title to the land held by an adjoining owner.

 

PURPOSE

 To be consistent with adjoining properties, the road, when stopped will be zoned rural general under the Waitaki District Plan, and its use will be in accordance with the rules of rural general zoning.

 

FURTHER INFORMATION

 SO 441510, being the plan of survey showing the portion of road to be stopped, may be inspected at Council’s offices, 20 Thames Street, Oamaru. Detailed enquires should be directed in the first instance to Dougall McIntyre, Property Services Manager (433 0300).  Persons wishing to object to this proposed stopping must lodge their objections with the Chief Executive in writing not later than 5:00pm on Wednesday 6th June 2012. The Waitaki District Council and the Waimate District Council gives notice of a requirement for a designation of land, water, subsoil and airspace for the North Otago Downlands Irrigation Scheme.  The requiring authority is North Otago Irrigation Company Limited (NOIC). The irrigation scheme plans to ultimately irrigate an area of up to 25,000 ha of the North Otago Downlands. The infrastructure, the subject of this designation request, has already been installed (except for the planned extension to the Tilverstowe pipelines) and its location is shown on Infrastructure and Pipelines Location Plan attached as Appendix II of the Notice.
