Civil Defence: There are currently no Civil Defence notices.
Rural Fire Status: Restricted Fire Season.
This means a period of time, whether of fixed or indefinite duration, specified pursuant to this Act, during which period permits or authorities are required by the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977 and Forest and Rural Fire Regulations 2005 for the lighting of fires in the open air.Whilst conditions are now very dry the Rural Fire Authority will still issue fire permits for planned burns that include burning crop residue and slash burns in the irrigated parts of the district. Applications to burn are assessed on a case by case basis. If conditions continue to dry out the Rural Fire Authority will consider a total Fire Ban in the next two weeks.
