Application Forms:
Domestic Water is 900 lt/day and is based on the Township Zone as per District Plan.
The Rural water is 1800 lt/day and is based on the Rural Zone as per District Plan.
You may need to check the District Plan zoning maps to identify the property.
Storage Tank Requirements on Rural Water Schemes
To comply with Rural Water Scheme Bylaws, Water Storage tanks be capable of holding a minimum of THREE DAYS SUPPLY, based on the rated points.

Urban or Domestic Points Allocation in Kakanui
Kakanui has both Urban and Rural water allocations.
New Water Point allocations on the Kakanui scheme are to be “Rural Points”
Existing Urban or Domestic points are permitted without the need for conversion to the Rural points allocation.
HOWEVER: if a property with an existing Urban or Domestics allocation is sold, the connection wil be converted to a Rural Point allocation, at the owners expense.
Application to Change my Rural Water Allocation
To change your rural water allocation, please complete the Rural Water Allocation Application form.
Application is made to the schemes committee for approval.
Note: 1800 litres = 400 Gallons
