CITIZEN'S AWARDS
Nominations are called for each year from people who "have made a significant contribution to the well-being of the Waitaki District and its citizens".
There are a great many people who provide a long and unselfish service to many areas of the community, and yet these people are often unknown outside of the areas to which they have given such unstinting service. This is a way for the Waitaki District Council to say “thank you” on behalf of everyone. The Awards are given to a very select few each year, and recognise the exceptional level of service and dedication to the Waitaki community and district.
Citizens awards are currently closed but will be opening for 2010 shortly.
