Vests in Schools

Palmerston VestsBefore the children receive their vests a contract should be drawn up and signed by the school and parents/guardians which outlines:

  • Responsibility for the vest including replacement and damage.
  • School requirements for wearing the vests.
  • Manufacturer’s directions for care of the vests.

It is important to involve the community as your eyes and ears.

Your Police Education Officer and Highway Patrol Officers will be informed and involved.

Classroom teachers check that vests are worn before children leave the class room.

Vests will be numbered to keep track of the students issued with the vests.

Parents/guardians check that vests are worn before children leave for school in the morning and put in a safe placewhen arriving home after school.
